About Bianca

Early Life

Bianca Teixeira is a Brazilian dancer originally from Embu-Guaçu, on the outskirts of São Paulo. Beginning her formal training in theater and dance at the age of 12, Bianca quickly bridged the gap of a later start through exceptional discipline and natural artistry. Her talent was soon recognised in major dance competitions throughout Brazil, marking the beginning of a rapid professional ascent.

2014-

International Competitions

Bianca’s trajectory soon gained international momentum. Her talent took her to New York for three consecutive years, where she culminated her appearances by securing second place at the Grand Prix de Danse (GPDD) with her performance of Satanella. Back in Brazil, Bianca achieved a major milestone at the Festival de Dança de Joinville, winning first place for three consecutive years and receiving the prestigious “Best Dancer” award in 2016. Her global accolades also include being a 2014 Prix de Lausanne finalist and a silver medalist at the Youth America Grand Prix, and a 2018 Varna International Ballet semi-finalist.

2016-

New Chapter in Europe

At the age of 16, Bianca relocated to Germany to attend the Ballet Academy of the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Dance. This pivotal move immersed her in the European classical and contemporary traditions, significantly refining her artistry. Following a season with the Bayerisches Junior Ballett München (2016/2017), she joined the Polish National Ballet in Warsaw, where she rose to the rank of Demi-Soloist.

2019-

Career Beginnings

In 2019, Bianca joined the San Francisco Ballet, where she performed in a diverse range of productions, including The Nutcracker, Romeo and Juliet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Helgi Tómasson’s Cinderella, as well as contemporary works like Etudes, Sandpaper Ballet, and Blake Works. At the start of the 2021/2022 season, she returned to Munich as a Soloist with the Bayerisches Staatsballett. Throughout her seasons in Munich, she significantly expanded her repertoire, debuting in principal roles, including Gamzatti (La Bayadère), Swanilda (Coppélia), and Olga (Onegin). She further distinguished herself in contemporary works such as Ratmansky’s Pictures at an Exhibition, Dawson’s Affairs of the Heart, and Duato’s White Darkness.

2024-

Principal Dancer

In 2024, Bianca joined the Semperoper Ballett as a Principal Dancer, where she is celebrated for her formidable classical foundation and captivating dramatic presence. Her expansive repertoire encompasses leading roles in the great classical masterpieces alongside works by the most influential choreographers of the 20th and 21st centuries. Renowned for her intuitive musicality and refined technique, Bianca possesses an ability to inhabit complex characters with both depth and clarity. A frequent guest on the world stage, she is regularly invited to perform at international ballet galas. Beyond the theater, Bianca serves as a Global Ambassador for Só Dança, representing the brand on a worldwide scale.
